About us

Hanuman :  The epitome of devotion to Lord Rama

Hanuman is the son of Vaayu (the Wind God). He is an ardent devotee of Lord Rama, an outstanding scholar and master of vedas. He symbolizes heroism and valor to fight for the cause of dharma, devotion, humility and selfless service. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays are auspicious to Hanuman. On Hanumath Jayanthi (celebrated on the day of “Moola star” in the Hindu month of Dhanu), more than one thousand eight vadas are offered as a garland to Hanuman along with special abhishekams, poojas, homams and decorations (with butter, tulasi, betel leaves, flowers and fruits). Reciting Hanuman Chalisa and writing the holy name of Rama are considered to be beneficial in many ways. The last day of Sri Rama Navami festival (the birthday of Rama) is celebrated in honor of Hanuman. In bhajans, it is customary to conclude with a song for Hanuman. Other common names of Hanuman are Anjaneya (son of Anjana Devi) and Maaruthi (son of Maaruth – Maaruth is another name of Vaayu).

Sri Abhya Anjaneya Swami Temple :  Inception, Vision and Mission

Sri Abhaya Anjaneya Swami Temple houses over five Sannidhis with several deities. The temple was constructed in 2005 with a vision of bringing devotees together, and sustaining religious values and Hindu customs. Seed for the idea that a Hanuman temple should be built in his village (North Rajupalem, AP) was planted by our Founder and Managing Trustee, Mopuru Kodanda Rami Reddy. In early 2004, that idea had been nurtured and shared with other devotees, and Sri Abhaya Anjaneya Temple Trust (SAATT) was formed. In late 2004, SAATT acquired a plot of land along the very busy NH-16 highway with a mission to serve local and travelling devotees with almost all facilities available for free. We believe that selfless service to mankind is the purest form of service to God. As more people began to contribute towards the common vision for a grand temple with traditional architecture, plans were drawn with the blessings of Shankaracharyas, and construction was completed within six months under the supervision of Project Directors, Sri. Maramreddy Lakshmi Narayana Reddy and Subramanyam Sthapathi.
